This was a surprisingly good read. It was captivating, with a solid story line and an oh-so hot romance featuring pages and pages of unresolved sexual attraction.
One of the things I liked most about this book is how the cop/suspect premise wasn't just an excuse for porn. The crime was certainly believable, and I'm not sure about the other readers, but it took a quite a long time for me to figure out the perpetrator (by long time, I mean that every other suspect basically got killed heh.
Mystery aside, another of the great things about this book was the delicious, well done
angst. There was great angst about
relevant things, not just needless, stupid little snits here and there to spice things up. When your professional and personal life mixes, things tend to go
splat (especially cop-homicide-suspect scenario) and if it doesn't, then you're doing it fucking wrong. But boy, did shit fly. There was glorious frustration, devastation and slight abuse of alcohol.
Inferno was one of the books where I couldn't read fast enough. Despite the fact that I didn't want to skim at all, I found myself accidentally skipping words and phrases and mentally stumbling over myself in the process because I wanted to know what was going to happen so badly. It's a wonderful and captivating read with
hot. I forgot to mention it before but
fuck. Sparks
fly, I tell you.
Warnings: Mentions of pedophilia & abuse (not into detail).
But also wonderfully lovable dick-y asshole-y men.
